WELCOME
Did
you know that there are 10 steps to
achieving whatever it is you want in life?
Well, it’s true. My colleague and partner,
Michael Charest, has spent years coaching
people who wish to make their dreams
come true. He found that regardless of
whether your wish is to build a multi-million
dollar business or to travel around the world,
the steps you need to take to realize your
dreams are identical.
This
month we take a look at those 10 steps
as they apply to someone whose dream is
to build a professional practice. Whatever
your dream, these steps apply – merely
substitute a word here and there and you’ve
got a roadmap for success. Enjoy!

10
STEPS TO THE PRACTICE OF YOUR DREAMS
1.
Decide.
The first step to building the practice of your
dreams is to decide to do so! Making a powerful
decision is a real and conscious choice, not just
a wish or a preference. We must cut off all
possibility except what we have committed to do,
and not even consider giving up. There is always
a way to succeed if you are committed.
2.
Believe.
As Napoleon Hill stated, “What the mind can
conceive, you can achieve.” Do you really, deeply,
truly, passionately, unequivocally, undeniably
believe that you can have a successful practice?
As human beings, we were not given the ability
to imagine something without the corresponding
ability to make it come true.
3.
Dream.
Chances are, your dream is not big enough. Your
dream must be big enough to get you out of bed
each morning with passion, and propel you to do
the day-to-day things you know you must in order
to get your business where you want it.
4.
Focus.
Brian Tracy said it best when he commented,
“Success equals goals and all else is commentary.”
You must get very clear on what it is exactly that
you want in your business.
5.
Plan.
As important as goals are, they are nearly
irrelevant without a comprehensive strategy for
attainment. It is important to create a step-by-step
business plan to accomplish your objectives. The
plan should include:
Target
Market
Niche
Methodology
Marketing Strategy
Sales Process
Overcoming Objections
Fee Setting
6.
Overcome Fear.
Let’s get it out in the open. The number one
reason most practices are not where we want
them to be is fear. Fear of failure, fear of
success, fear of networking, speaking,
rejection, etc. Identifying your fears and
overcoming them is a critical component
to creating your dream practice.
7.
Execute.
Goals and a plan are crucial but irrelevant if
action is not taken. Set up a structure to ensure
you are taking consistent action in implementing
your plan.
8.
Evaluate.
Is what you are doing working? It has been said
that the definition of insanity is continuing to do
the same things over and over, and expecting
different results. The flip side is, often we do not
allow the necessary time to allow what we are
doing to take hold and produce results.
9.
Enjoy.
You will not achieve your business goals if you
are not having fun. It is that concrete and that
simple. If this is not fun for you, then get out
and do something else!
10.
Repeat.
Yes, that’s right. These steps must be repeated
over and over until you achieve your desired results.
That’s
it. The 10 steps to building the professional
practice of your dreams. It’s up to you now, to
put those steps into play, get help where you need
it, and make it happen!
